This is our street in Mackay our house is to the left and those bolards you see in timber are 3ft out of the ground. we were evacuated to our neighbours house at about 8:30 am yesterday as the water had already come into the sunken lounge room and the study and laundry and the bathroom/toilet. Threatening to come up our three steps and in the front door from were the Sticky beaks had to drive around yesterday and cause waves of water to come into our front door. No major damage to our contents as we were up and moving a 4am to move things up on cupboards/benches/bed etc.
The house has now had carpet ripped out. Main thing we are all safe.

And the shed and backyard from our neighbours house in the shed you will see the toolboxes they are up on 2 bessa blocks and the Metal toolbox is 900mm high from bottom to top. it was up to the lock on the front. So you could say we got alot of water. It came in at 700mm in 5 hours. CRAZY.
Thank fully though we are quiet lucky compared to all the people from the other side of
the river. A work collegue has lost everything they own.
